About event

The musical comedy according to G. B. Shaw Pygmalion

My Fair Lady, "The Perfect Musical", as the work of the composer Frederick Loew and the librettist Alan Jay Lerner called, was based on Pygmalion George Bernard Shaw. This is a well -known fact. The original comedy with an ironic subtitle "Romantic Five Hraces" by the Irish Game, but after Shakespeare the most important English playwright, was written in 1912 and only two years later, when she appeared on stage in Vienna, Berlin and Prague. The game here caused a stir on the stage that the unheard of the juicy curse of "Bloody Ars" ("fucking ass", in the Czech translation of Ota Ornesta "rotten ass"). In the Brno version, which entered the history of the Czech theater with the attribute "Z Zelňák" in 1999, it was noted unforgettable: "Hébni tó Svniló řťó!", 340 times! First on the drama scene and subsequently in the bishop's court. The story of a double fairy tale, in which the blunt dirty girl becomes a real lady, and in which this exceptional girl can soften the hard sarcastic heart of the grim self -centered professor, remains the same. Yet the renewed production of this known title will bring changes not only in the new cast, but also in the time setting into the early 20th century. The spectators can look forward to the show of the impressive period costumes Andrea Kučerová in the magnificent scene of Jaroslav Milfajt, which this time brings Lisa Dulínková, Professor Hradec and Colonel to Brno in 1912.
