About event

"Humus can inspire to cultivate collective and collaborative reactions against hard competition and regressive individualism. With humus, people can develop strategies to restore" the world that contains other worlds "... as Donna Haraway wrote: We are compost, not Posthuman." With the creative study of Fuzzy Earth (Tekla Gedeon & Sebastian GSchanes), which we have prepared for you as part of the accompanying program for the current exhibition Katalin Kortmann Jaray & Karina Mendreczky - Mingle and Fuse. This is increasing our awareness of this important area. With our active participation, we enrich the soil, create new alliances with human (even more than human) communities and discover our own inner cambrical creatures.

The way we garden, we grow food and treat the soil, affects the world around us. Despite good intent, care can become a harmful routine causing disruption at several levels. Excessive use of agricultural fertilizers threatens the health of the soil and surrounding water as well as the food security of humanity. Fertilization to support crop cultivation is released into the soil by high amounts of phosphorus that are unable to absorb plants. Phosphorus penetrates into streams and lakes, where it triggers a tangled biological war between worms, bacteria, fish and algae for nutrients and oxygen. Phosphorus is also the cause of the global conflict. 80 % of phosphates are mined only in three places in the world (Morocco/West Sahara, China, Algeria) and is expected that most countries are already exhausted over the next generation, causing the global food crisis. agricultural protocols and horticultural habits. They cooperate with scientists and experts to map the use and ecological impacts of phosphorus. They apply various methods of soil testing and analyze agricultural production to visualize the stunning presence of phosphorus in the country. We will work with local soil during the workshop, but we will be happy if you bring your own samples from your gardens and neighborhoods. During the event for these samples we will look in a new way. The tangible output from the workshop will be temporary sculpture works from a mixture of organic substances enriching the soil that will be adapted to specific samples. You will be able to place these temporary sculptures in gardens or public areas where they will decompose, melt and slowly release nutrients into the soil. These works will be inspired by ancient arthropods - trilobites, as comments of creatures whose skeletons contributed to the emergence of sediments and rocks, which we draw fertility and eventually become part of our own DNA. href = "https://forms.gle/ta36xncvkts5negza"> https://forms.gle/ta36xncvks5negza
