About event
Presentation of the Czech translation of the book Bachmut in the presence of the author Myroslav Lajuk
If everything goes well, on Thursday, January 23, we will welcome the author of the book, Ukrainian writer, journalist and screenwriter Myroslav Lajuk, who will present the Czech translation of his book here in Prague Bachmut, which was published in November of last year by the publishing house Pavel Mervart:
At the time of the most intense battles for Bachmut, the writer Myroslav Lajuk and photographer Danylo Pavlov go to places where there are practically constant armed clashes and shelling does not stop even for a minute. They will spend several days and nights here alongside the brave Ukrainian defenders, with infantry and air defense units, medics and military chaplains, rescuers and children and old people who, despite everything, continue to stay in the city. The result of these trips at the turn of the year and in March 2023 is this book of reports and essays about daily life on the front line, why soldiers get manicures and what military nicknames are for, irreparable losses, the history of Bachmut and the phenomenon of memory and forgetting .
The entire event will be interpreted into Czech.
