We invite you to a book discussion for the reportage book At the bottom of the sea, in which the author Kristína Böhmer follows her own journey to Cuba, a country full of contrasts, where the reality of the pandemic, social tension and everyday life mixes with an atmosphere that cannot be fully planned or predicted. 🇨🇺
The book captures a world that moves between beauty and crisis, between postcard exoticism and the harsh reality of protests, changes and uncertainty. It is a view of an island that seems distant, but in many ways it also mirrors questions close to our world.
The talk will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the book, the reporter's work and the moments that made it into the final text or just didn't make it.
