About event
The mountains are full of different fools
A romantic comedy about an unexpected meeting and self-discovery in a beautiful mountain landscape. Lucie, a young woman from the city, inherits a mountain cabin from her supposedly biological father, a former mountain service chief whom she never knew. That's why she comes to the mountains, but instead of an empty cottage, she finds rescuer Matěj, his dog Bedřich and others who run the building as a dormitory for schools in nature.
Lucie has to cope not only with the merciless world of the mountains, but also with the sarcastic Matěj and the challenges that gradually force her to push her own boundaries. Comical situations, mountain rescue operations and fatal misunderstandings lead to an unexpected rapprochement. Despite the fact that Lucia initially struggles with the adversity of the mountains and Matěj's cynical humor, their relationship gradually turns into friendship and maybe even something more...
Director Rudolf Havlík is the author of the successful audience titles What Men Desire, What Men Desire 2, Dolls, President, Island or Treasure. He shot the film On the Mountains not only in the beautiful mountain nature of the Giant Mountains, but also in Nepal. He stated:
"I thought I wouldn't be able to do it. Nevertheless, we went to the biggest mountains in the world with a bunch of cafe bums and proved it. Mountains have always been good for understanding that nothing really matters. They clear the soul, calm the head and remind us of what is important in life. And that's what we wanted to show in the film."
