About event
Fibich's Šárka loosely follows the plot of Bedřich Smetana's festive opera Libuš. It depicts the outbreak of the so-called girls' war after the death of the mythical princess, when women wanted to regain the privileges they had during Libuša's reign.
The new production will be presented at the National Theater more than forty-five years after the last performance. The musical staging will be undertaken by the music director of the National Theater Opera, Robert Jindra, who invited the German director Kay Link to collaborate.
✨ Premieres on November 7 and 9, 2024 at the National Theatre
