About event
8.5. we will remember the Day of Victory over Fascism. In 2026, it is different for several reasons, which is why we also decided to pay special attention to it.
On Wednesday 6.5. we have prepared a special event.
In groups, we will walk through the streets of old Banská Bystrica - in front of the houses from which our Jewish neighbors were forcibly dragged away, and under the supervision of a restorer, we will do the maintenance of the Stolpersteine stones. Afterwards, we have prepared the film Mišpoche, after which we will debate with Alica Fruhwaldová from Banská Bystrica about those we lost due to violence.
We will meet on Wednesday 6/5:
- at 4.30 pm on Náměstí SNP (by the fountain) - for participation in the walk and stone maintenance,
- at 5.15 p.m. at Horná 50 (Atrium BB) - for a film screening and discussion.
The end of the event (including the film and the discussion) is at 19.00 in the Atrium at Horná 50.
We hope that you will accept the invitation to the service of the past and the future in a public space and a debate with a special person.
