About event

The older Malostranská Most Tower, called Juditina, is not only the seat of the Old Prague club, but also hides one of the most remarkable artifacts of Romanesque Prague. The work is deliberately described in this way, because in the lecture we will focus on what we know about the relief, what we do not know about it, what we thought about it and what we could think in the current state of knowledge. We will show that in the Czech environment of the 12th century, exceptionally high -quality works of art could have appeared, but the abyss of centuries is too deep to bring out the definitive courts about them. However, the preserve of hypotheses is an area of attractive and fruitful and, after all, for the history of the oldest art quite natural.
