About event
"When you build a house, you need a solid foundation. Without it, the house collapses and the time, energy, and money we've invested in it go to waste. This explains why the masters have always emphasized that the first, basic steps are far more important than the advanced practices that build on them." - Mingyur Rinpoche
The path of Buddhism is based on the understanding that awakening is not a distant goal to be achieved, but our innate reality that we can recognize in the present moment and experience for ourselves.
On this path of awakening we can use a variety of methods: from simple exercises and deep contemplations that introduce us to the nature of our mind, to meditation techniques that use the imagination to develop contentment and equanimity that are not dependent on external circumstances of our life.
In 2010, Mingyur Rinpoche wrote a short text for practice called The Nectar of the Path. This text contains key elements of Buddhist practice that help us lay a solid foundation, and allows all major aspects of the path to be practiced within a single meditation session. The text is part of the Path of Liberation program, but at the same time it serves as an independent and comprehensive Buddhist practice.

Topics covered by the course:
Four basic ideas We will deal with appreciating this precious human life, reflect on the transience of all phenomena and examine the law of karma - causes and consequences. Finally, we will contemplate the suffering of samsara and how often we ourselves are the creators of our own suffering.
Refuge We begin by asking what refuge means and why we accept it. We will then explore different forms of refuge and how they reinforce each other.
Bodhicitta We will focus on our motivation and explore bodhicitta, specifically its essence in the form of aspirational bodhicitta (desire) and action bodhicitta (putting it into practice). We will continue with the topics of meditation and wisdom, which are the last two of the six paramitas.
Guru Yoga We will focus on the essence of Vajrayana practice: Guru Yoga. We begin by looking at the meaning of trust, faith and commitment. We will then focus on Guru Yoga itself and how to specifically do this practice in formal meditation. In the final part, we will deepen the theme of devotion through the practice of giving merit for the awakening of all sentient beings.

Holger Yeshe was born in Germany and began his meditation practice in 1999. Since then he has studied and practiced both in the Theravada lineage and in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. He met Mingyur Rinpoche in 2005 and took monastic vows under his guidance in 2010.
After ten years spent in Nepal and India, he now works in Europe, where he actively supports the development of the Tergar meditation community in German-speaking countries and other European countries. He leads meditation courses, organizes lectures and supports Mingyur Rinpoche's students. He has also been taking care of Tergaru meditation groups throughout Europe and the world for many years.
Because Holger sees the clear benefits of meditation in himself and in the people around him, he is very interested in making this practice accessible to everyone. He also enjoys exploring the intersections between the meditation tradition and Western methods of scientific research. In his free time, he likes riding a mountain bike, hiking and climbing. He spends most of his time traveling and does not have a permanent residence.
