About event
When his guitar talks… it usually shoots bullets… Desperado is a stylish 90s ride where there's more shooting than talking, the tequila is flowing and Antonio Banderas looks so cool you'd be forgiven for spilling his beer.
Robert Rodriguez serves up an action western filled with slow motion, over-the-top gunfights and gags that taste as good as a shot of good tequila. Add to that the beautiful Salma Hayek, guitars, dust and some really big explosions — and we have a film that doesn't take itself a bit seriously, but that's all the more to be enjoyed by any fan of honest cinema.
There will be a mini-lecture about the film by Libo-Wan of Nerdopolis before the film, and a possible discussion after the screening. He will be supported by the film editor from MovieZone and co-author of the book Nineties in the film, in which he wrote a medallion for Desperado, KarelR! #film #pokec #pivo
Desperado
One day a man named Buscemi appears in the bar Tarrasco in the Mexican town of Santa Cecilia. He takes a beer and tells a story about a bar he stopped at not long ago. About a big Mexican who was looking for someone named Bucho, and when the bartender and guests pulled out their guns, he shot them all. The Mexican calls himself El Mariachi (The Musician) and is Buscemi's friend. Mafia boss Buch's men shot his lover and mutilated his hand. From that moment on, he takes revenge. Soon, of course, it will also appear in the Tarrasco bar. Another bloody shootout ensues where El Mariachi shoots everyone in the bar and is wounded by the last of the men on the street when he knocks down a beautiful girl at the last minute. Carolina, the owner of the local bookstore, treats the avenger while Buch's killers are already looking for him. Instead, however, they kill Navajos, an assassin who was also hired to kill El Mariachi. When Bucho realizes where the avenger is hiding, he sends his assassins to the bookstore to kill him and Carolina. The pair shoot their way to freedom and escape. The Avenger calls his friends, Camp and Quin, for help. The final billing is approaching.
