Late Collection in cooperation with the Private Conservatory in Nitra prepared an unconventional format not only for dance enthusiasts but also for the general public who are interested in learning more about experiments in modern dance.
The two-day format ROOTS OF DANCE EXPERIMENT, which includes a workshop, a performative lecture, and again at the end, the workshop takes place on January 22 and 23, 2025 at the land of the private conservatory in Nitra.

The performative lecture is devoted to the post-modern period in dance, which brought about a transformation of the perception of dance, its forms and possibilities. The post-modern movement brings a new approach to art, reflects and is inspired by everyday life. Process, action, openness and indeterminacy are in the center of interest. It brings the everyday into art and art into everyday life.
Experiments and the courage to break established conventions are related to the 60s of the 20th century. and the movement had several leading personalities who influenced and still influence generations of dancers, e.g. Yvonne Rainer, Steve Paxton, David Gordon, Trisha Brown, Deborah Hay and others.
The lecture is based on the starting point of modern dance and the personalities who created it, and at the same time offers an experiment in the form of a performative lecture. It uses the space between the lecture with authentic video demonstrations, along with dance demonstrations demonstrating the principles and relationships of the topic. We use the original version of the performance "Tria A" (choreography by Yvonne Rainer), contact improvisation and formal compositional methods. The dance demonstrations are performed by Anna Sedlačková and Daniel Raček together with selected students who will participate in the thematic workshop.
The authors of the project Anna Sedlačková and Daniel Raček are long-time dancers and teachers of contemporary dance, with extensive experience in the field of improvisation, contact improvisations and post modern compositional procedures.
The project of the civic association Skorý zber Korene dance experiment was supported from public sources by the Fund for support of art. They also supported: Špirála space, Babyfit.
We look forward to joint experimentation in Nitra.
