After a while, we launch again in Stromovka! Come and watch the release of several cured bats, which are slowly ending their medical stay in our rescue station in the capital. city of Prague for wild animals. You will have the opportunity to take a close look at our - soon to be former - patients, learn more about their fates in life and the course of treatment, and also wish them a happy flight without accidents. ❤️🩹

Bats are among the frequent patients of our rescue station. They are mainly spotted bats, but also representatives of other species that can be found in the nature of Prague, for example rusty, whistling or park bats. Last year, we even saw an extraordinary increase in bat patients - we cared for a total of 281 bats (in 2024 there were 174 of them). In most cases, these were not juveniles, but adult bats who found themselves starving and emaciated. Hedgehogs, also insectivores, had big problems last year, so we believe that insectivorous mammals are affected by the decline of insects in the landscape, and thus the lack of food that they are able to provide themselves.
At the event, you can also visit the information stand of the Czech Society for the Protection of Bats and learn even more about these fascinating nocturnal mammals.
