They are gods for their fans worldwide, but their music seems to be obsessed with the devil - more aggressive, faster, more uncompromising than others. The German band Kreator has long since climbed the Olympus of the Thrash Metal scene. For the first time, the Film Kreator - HATE & HOPE tells the forty -year history of the celebrated metal, from the foundation as a school band in 1982 in the Ruhr area to the large international stages of the current world tour. Then as now, they stand against the hatred and abysses of our society. Shrill tones, virtuoso guitar riffs and energetic drum strokes process the turmoil in our civilization with great will and creativity. Between Hannah Arendt quotes and headless corpses there is a well-staged chaos poetry full of horror symbols. A musical Molotov cocktail against evil with a cathartic effect. of the Ruhrpott ”to Gelsenkirchen, where the German metal sizes gather. With private archive recordings and exciting interviews (Scott Ian / Anthrax, Chuck Billy / Testament, Bela B. / The doctors, guitarist Phil Demmel / Former Machine Head, Lars Eidinger, Maik Weichert / Heaven Shall Burn, Nergal / Behemoth, Andy Sneap), you embark on a very honest and humorous journey in the middle of the game of German music history.
