About event
22 lanes with Luna Wedler, Jannis Niewöhner, Zoë Baier, Laura Tonke. Film by Mia Maariel Meyer based on the novel by Caroline Wahl. - from September 04th in the cinema.
Tildas (Luna Wedler) days are strictly clocked: studying, sitting at the supermarket fund, swimming, taking care of her little sister Ida (Zoë Baier) - and on bad days also about her mother (Laura Tonke). The three of them live in the saddest house of Fröhlichstrasse in a small town that Tilda hates. Her friends have long been gone, live in Amsterdam or Berlin, only Tilda has remained. Because someone has to be there for Ida, earn money, take responsibility. There are no significant fathers, the mother is alcohol -dependent.
One day things get in motion: Tilda gets a prospect of a doctorate in Berlin, and a future flashes that promises freedom. And Viktor (Jannis Niewöhner) appears, the big brother of Ivan, whom Tilda lost five years earlier. Viktor, who - just like her - always swims 22 lanes. But when Tilda almost believes that everything could be fine, the situation at home completely gets out of control.
stirring and with a very own tonality tells 22 lanes of two sisters who defend themselves against shitty conditions with unshakable belief in the beauty of life in order to give their lives a different direction. A film about growing up, love and unconditional cohesion.
