About event
NeverMore 68 | August 21 | Výstaviště Prague
The largest civic commemoration of the occupation of Czechoslovakia by Warsaw Pact troops is returning to Výstaviště Prague.
🇨🇿 This year we will commemorate 58 years since August 21, 1968 – the day that fundamentally changed our history. The NeverMore 68 festival offers space to look back and to understand the connections that still resonate today.
Each year also opens up a current topic. This year's theme is exile and emigration – personal and social stories of leaving the homeland, their causes and consequences.
You can look forward to:
• debate and video stage
• exhibitions dedicated to 1968 and the theme of emigration
• audiovisual installations
• presentations by civil society organizations
• cultural program and musical performances
The program will also include a screening of the film Taking Off, the first of a film made by Miloš Forman after he left for emigration.
The festival connects the past with the present, opens up the themes of freedom and democracy and creates a space for experts and the general public to meet.
👉 The program is created in cooperation with the association Thanks, that I can.
Entrance is free.
The event takes place on the Brussels route and Open Air.
