About event
👩 Moderator Jana Cviková, along with three exceptional women from the dissent world, will take you to a period that was seemingly under complete control of the state, but at the same time the revolutionary spirit and courage flourished. Like Hana Gregorová, the advocate of women's emancipation and education, these personalities were the space of freedom and fought for their values.
👩 Marta Šimečková, Olga Gyarfášová and Jolana Kusá will show you how women shaped an alternative culture in Bratislava. They were not afraid to step out of the gray stream of normalization and created places of freedom in private flats, at secret meetings and unofficial events. Forbidden literature, illegal concerts and happening have become symbols of resistance. How did they oppose official ideology and what gave them courage? What was their fight against the system that tried to destroy all authentic?
