About event
The British band New Model Army has been doing well for four decades that they are good at: politically charged poetic songs that are rooted in folk, punk, rock and metal. The band, named after the revolutionary army of Oliver Cromwell, has managed to build a huge cult status worldwide. They have been enormously influential in postpunk, folk rock, political rock, goth, metal and all kinds of musical subcultures, but they have steadily refused themselves to conform to one of these genre-lofts.
This evening is in the sign of their new album 'Unbroken', which came out early 2024. The band started writing it in 2021. They decided early that their number one choice to mix the new album would be the legendary Tchad Blake, known for his work for The Black Keys, among others. Full of guitars, scorching vocals and with the emphasis on bass and drums that characterize all their work, 'Unbroken' sounds like New Model Army, but slightly different.
