About event
Journalists who work on a freelance bring us stories of people and events that we would otherwise be harder to meet. But they often work in precarious conditions. The invitation to the discussion was accepted by four independent journalists, who contribute to the Slovak and foreign media. What do they work on, how and under what conditions? What does the journalistic work on freelance and what challenges are struggling? What contributes to greater inclusivity in journalism? areas
✒️Petra Eller, journalist, author and activist who focuses on dignified life for people with disabilities. He leads the Slovak editorial office of the online magazine Jada. She studied communication at the Paris-Descartes University. He is actively involved in the fight against domestic violence and violence against women. Her reports concern women's rights, humanitarian crises, war conflicts and migration. She reported from more than twenty countries, including Venezuela, Belarus, Palestine and Ukraine. Dozens of countries have traveled with the camera. She wrote the books Danube - River of Stories and Humans - 30 faces of better Slovakia. She is interested in the stories of specific people living in various places in the world, including conflict areas, countries with complicated international status or regions affected by a crisis or disaster. Through the civic association, he does not creep to bring help to people from their stories in Ukraine. For her articles and online contributions she received four nominations for the journalistic prize - three in the category of civil journalism and one in the commentary category (written journalism). In his articles and videos, he brings to the experience of ableism, often linking them to black humor and proven facts from various areas. It examines intership and seeks answers to questions that people do not get used to asking. She worked, among other things, for Diary N, Cultural Magazine Capital, and Ď. It is interested in the possibilities of the literary report format. It translates from Hungarian literary and journalistic texts.
