About event
FREEDOM UNITES US
36 years ago, thousands of people stood up to unfreedom. They took to the streets, jingling their keys and believing that truth and love can win. Thanks to them, we live in a free country today.
Today, this legacy deserves more than just a memory. It needs a living space in which freedom is lived, not just remembered. It is up to us to carry on their legacy. By celebrating and remembering together what unites us. Freedom lives as long as we live it together.
We want to create a bridge between generations, strengthen belonging and together live the values that are key to the development of Slovakia.
Join us and let's establish a new tradition. GENTLE! Freedom unites us!
GENTLE – festival of freedom
16. and on November 17, we will enliven the squares of Bratislava and other cities in Slovakia. Not only as a memory, but also as a new beginning - a celebration of the values that unite us.
What awaits us:
🎤 discussions on freedom, democracy and media,
🎨 exhibitions and installations in public space,
🎧 live podcast studio,
🧩 street art and creative workshops,
🎶 concert for freedom with Slovak artists,
✨ symbolic light parade at the end on.
We will publish the entire program soon.
❤ A celebration for everyone
GENTLE connects. It is not an event of one group or one generation. It belongs to everyone - young, old, believers and non-believers, people from cities and rural areas. We want November 16 and 17 to become a day when Slovakia breathes new life.
👥 Organizers:
Oslavy is organized by a network of civic initiatives, institutions and non-profit organizations that have long been dedicated to supporting civil society, young people, strengthening democracy, history and culture.
Among them are I want to stay here, Students for open culture, We are in it together, the Student Council of Universities, the Slovak Youth Council, Archtung, the Center for Education and Innovation, the Prague Café, Nexteria, the Cvernovka Foundation, Bystriny, Biela Vrana, the Platform for Democracy, the Stop Corruption Foundation, Post Bellum, Donio, Civic Community, and other organizations. It continues in us.
