Nick Green: Happy Birthday Baby J
Event by: Divadlo Kontra
Location: Divadlo KONTRA, Zimná 203/68, Spišská Nová Ves
Theatre, Stand-up & comedy
About event
Baby J is being raised agender. The parents, Gary and Louisie, strictly guard his biological sex - they do not want access to their child to be determined by restrictive cultural patterns.
At a birthday party in a lake house, guests sip good wine and discuss social inequality. It's clear that there's a ticking time bomb hiding beneath that elegant facade...
It would seem that Happy Birthday Baby J is a pander to political correctness, but the opposite is true. The play is a mirror in which many consumers of culture and theatergoers can see themselves.
A sharp and daring comedy by one of the most interesting Canadian playwrights of the younger generation.
Admission: 10 EUR
