About event
NINA KOHOUT _ Symbiosis 2025 | Friday, November 7 at 8:30 p.m. | Christiania
Singer, composer and producer Nina Kohout studied at the prestigious London music school The BRIT School, where Adele and Amy Winehouse also worked. In 2020, she won the title Discovery of the Year at the Radio Head Awards and in early 2022, she released her debut EP Pandemonium, which received excellent reviews not only from domestic but also foreign media, including the British BBC radio. Moonlight, one of the songs on Nina's EP, as well as the first single from her upcoming debut album, Little Butterfly, were named Song Of The Day by American radio station KEXP. Last year's autumn tour, which included concerts in Milan, Brighton, and Budapest, was preceded by a performance at the largest European showcase festival, Eurosonic, where Nina performed together with a string quintet. On home soil, Nina Kohout participated, among others, in the Pohoda, Atmosféra, and Bratislava Jazz Days festivals.
In his music, he combines the mysterious shades of old Slovak folklore, serious music and the freshness of dark electronics. Subsequently, he creates his own timeless, sometimes uncomfortably strange and anarchic musical world. Nina Kohout pushes the boundaries of musical obedience with her sound narration, leading a constant conversation between invasive horror and fragile purity.
The project was financially supported by the city of Prešov.
