About event
Threads of Time
Celebratory evening on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the foundation of the puppet theater in Nitra.
The celebration of the creation of professional puppetry in Nitra is staged as the story of the birth, life and future of the Old Theatre. It is depicted as a living being - it has its cradle, experiences childhood, adolescence and crises, has its desires and dreams for the future. We are accompanied throughout the evening by three characters - the Past (Ivan Gontko), the Present (Vanesa Balla Hagyungová) and the Future - in the form of a modern puppet (Danica Hudáková, Simon Fico, Juraj Bednarič). These heroes evoke memories of the history of children's theater, comment on its turning points, revive its happy and difficult moments. The gala program will present short samples of archival records from productions and the history of the theater as well as video memories of former actors and employees of the ensemble. Samples from successful performances will also be presented in the new staging by the actors of the Old Theater - classic puppet titles such as Merry Bears, The Enchanted Brothers, The Little Mermaid and Faust will come to life on stage. The celebratory music-dramatic program Threads of Time is intended for a wide family of puppet theater fans and will delight not only the old-timers, but also the young audience. Peter Oravec directed the gala evening.
