About event
We invite you to the April travel lecture, where we will look at the trek from Death Valley to Mount Whitney and then transfer to the island of Sulawesi. At the end, we'll take a little quiz 🙂
18:00 - USA - Low to High - One-week trek from Death Valley to Mount Whitney - Pellerová Daniela
How many kilometers would a trek that connects the lowest and highest point of continental America be? How much water is needed for a few days in the desert? What are the biggest animals you can meet there? I didn't know the answer to any of these questions when I enthusiastically nodded to my friend about the idea of hiking in Death Valley. He provided me with many answers, surprises and experiences that I will share in the presentation.
19:00 - Sulawesi: A place where death is not the end - Ľuboš Ďurica
Sulawesi is one of the most interesting islands in Indonesia - wild, diverse and still off the main tourist routes. With its special shape, it resembles an orchid and hides an incredible combination of mountains, jungle, coral reefs and traditional cultures. Photographer and passionate traveler Ľuboš Ďurica will guide us through it.
20:20 Chile – a country of contrasts that stole my heart - Jude Jokai
In 2019, I set out on a journey across one of the most diverse countries in the world – Chile. From the vibrant capital city, to climbing my first volcano, to the wild and unbridled.
I experienced the incredible hospitality of the local people, tasted their food and wine, and got to know the culture through the stories told to me by those I met on the road. Chile surprised me with its diversity - each part of the country is a completely different world.
And then came a moment I will never forget - an encounter with a cougar in Patagonia, which almost made my heart jump out of my chest. It was there that I realized that a piece of my heart belongs forever to this wild corner of the world.
If you want to experience Chile through the eyes of a traveler who crossed it with a (lost) backpack on her back, come and listen to my story full of adventure, mountains, emotions and life-changing encounters.
