About event
We cordially invite you to the opening of the Negative Spaces exhibition, a presentation of the work of a young author who goes by the name Nixie's Blood.
In a collection of digital paintings, the author presents her defense of darkness – contemplative black and white paintings speak of negativity, which is a place of peace and reconciliation. For her fantastic silent beings, this is a space from which they can exit and return to again. There is an implied invitation in their attitude; they encourage us to enter the void, which is a refuge.
The works are characterized by sensitive work with light that is precisely dosed and perfectly balances the black background. The main inspiration is the worlds of fantasy, the visual aesthetics of video games and the motifs of tarot cards.
Nixie's Blood is a graduate of the Department of Scenic Art - Painting and Decorative Art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Košice. Her work naturally combines scenographic sensibility, work with light and personal mythology, which she develops through digital painting. Negative Spaces is her first solo exhibition.
