About event
For the twenty -fourth time, the Night of Architecture and Design will take place in the premises of the Faculty of Architecture and design of STU. It represents an evening event when the faculty building will turn into a country full of exhibited studio works by student, with the main goal - to show the professional and general public results of the creation of a wide range of projects created during the winter semester.

Slackline Slovakia, Performative Intervention The
Performative intervention is part of the introduction of the new art program in public space. An informal presentation of the new FAD STU study program in the public space, which opens for the first students from the next academic year. The culture of the protest and its penetrations with feminist criticism of architecture and public space will be discussed by future teachers of the upcoming program and their guests Petra Hlaváčková (art historian, curator, co-credible studio Gender & Space, Institute for Art and Architecture, Academy der Bildenden Künste Wien) , Jaro Varga (art artist and curator), Ivana Rumanová (cultural anthropologist and critic, cultural fields and open culture!) Clubov X Peris+Toraral Arquitectes, José Tororal
The architectural company Peris+Toraral Arquitectes based in Barcelona, founded by Marta Peris and José Toraral, is engaged in research into new ways of living with innovative building methods. They focus on addressing the challenges of climate emergency and housing. Their work was awarded the Riba International Awards for Excellence 2024 and Spanish Architecture Award CSCAE 2022, became the finalists of the EU Mies Award 2022. Pavilion in Venice Biennale 2016, including UIA Tokyo 2011. /> A lecture by Professor Vladimír Šlapeta, who worked for two periods as the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University and later as a Vice -Rector of the Czech Republic. In the years 2006 - 2010 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Architecture of the Vut in Brno and is the author of many publications on modern architecture and urbanism of the 20th century. /> Architecture of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic 58-89
Ján Zajíček's film from 2024, which he shot according to Vladimír 518, also in cooperation with Slovak architecture historian Professor Henrieta Moravčíková, brings a plastic portrait of ambiguous times. Many modern and inspiring. Against the background of impressive shots of the most interesting Czech and Slovak post -war buildings, we will be able to listen to the testimonies of leading architects and art historians. The event is currently organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Design of the STU in Bratislava in cooperation with the student platform FAD STU.
