About event
The traditional event Night of the Churches in the Church of St. Francis of Assisi
A traditional event called Night of Churches will take place throughout the Czech Republic again this year, during which visitors can visit an open church or attend one of the prepared programs. We would like to invite you to both of our churches for the whole evening or maybe just for a short moment.
Program:
17:30 - 18:00 Invitation to silence
Opportunity to enter the silence of the church and draw strength from God.
18:00 - 18:45 Holy Mass
Holy Mass, to which all visitors are cordially invited. You don't have to "know what to do", you don't have to force yourself into anything. All you have to do is come with an open heart and ears :)
18:45 - 19:45 Lecture on church wall painting with St. Francis of Assisi
This year we commemorate 800 years since the death of St. Francis of Assisi, one of the most popular saints. Who was it anyway? And how is it captured in our parish church? We invite you to a lecture by the parish vicar P. Slavomír Ordoš.
20:00 - 21:00 Concert of the guitar ensemble Všehokus
Chamber concert of the guitar ensemble Všehokus. Combined repertoire - compositions by classics and contemporary performers, well-known melodies and spiritual music will be heard.
21:00 - 21:55 Mass wine tasting
Are they preaching water and drinking wine? Come and see for yourself at the premiere tasting of Mass wines together with our clergymen Michael Špilar and Slavomír Ordoš.
All-evening program:
Open church
Tours of the church with commentary, ascents to the tower, possibility of silent prayer, intercessory prayer or spiritual conversation, music program and light refreshments.
Letter to Heaven
Write Thanks to God, a request for yourself or someone close to you. Or shout out your WHY on paper?
Intercessory prayer
Are you going through a difficult time? Do you not know how to pray and would like to somehow "hand over" your difficulties? We will pray for you and all that you carry. In our church, you can also write your request on a piece of paper or just light a candle.
Outdoor quiz game about St. Francis of Assisi
This year was declared by the Pope as the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, that is why we invite you to an outdoor game in which you will learn information about the life of St. Francis of Assisi, whose 800th death anniversary will be commemorated this year on October 3.
