Traditional event Night of Churches at the Community Center of Mother Teresa
A traditional event called Night of Churches will also take place throughout the Czech Republic this year, during which visitors can visit an open church or attend one of the prepared programs. We would like to invite you to both of our churches for the whole evening or maybe just for a short moment.
This year's theme of the Night of the Churches is COURAGE
Program:
16:00 - 16:30 Reading in the parish library for adults
Come and listen to the reading of an excerpt from the book "U nás v Mitfordu" by Jan Karonová, or to short texts by Anselm Grün from the book "Thoughts for every day".
16:00 - 17:00 Theatrical performance "Puss in Boots" for children from 4 years old - Puppets in the hospital
The puppet fairy tale "Puss in Boots" will take you on a journey full of unexpected twists and happy adventures. Let yourself be carried away by a story in which friendship, courage and cleverness can win.¨
16:00 - 20:00 Church for creation not only for children
Creative workshop for children and parents.
16:00 - 21:00 Parish library
In the Mother Teresa Community Center you can use the services of the parish library and borrow quality Christian literature. There are more than 5000 volumes of books and periodicals in the library. You will find new books here, as well as older books.
16:00 - 22:00 Tower Challenge - prove your COURAGE
A climb up the ladders to the bell tower with a guide. Would you like to know what the view of the South City is like from the tower of the Community Center? Then don't hesitate to come to our Tower Challenge (suitable for children from 8 years old and physically fit people).
17:00 - 17:10 Dance for joy in the church
We can praise God with dance. Come and dance with us.
17:10 - 17:30 Guided tour of the Mother Teresa Community Center
A chance to get to know a place you pass every day up close. The tour takes about 20-30 minutes.
17:10 - 17:30 Reading in the parish library for children
The humorous book "The Guardian Angel Goes to School" by the French author Edmond Prochain, or the exciting stories in the book "Pavel, adventurer of faith" by the Czech author Oldřich Selucký await you.
17:10 - 21:00 Children's cinema
In our cinema, short animated films for children will be shown continuously between 17:10-21:00. Come with your children to watch the series Ježkovy koi or Metodějská Cyrilinka or Bula&Drbola. In addition, you can also buy popcorn for a symbolic price in the cafe.
17:45 - 18:30 Concert Hudba z Marsu (ZUŠ Jižní Město) - The Beatles, Queen and Čechomor
Come and listen to the songs of The Beatles, Queen and Čechomor performed by the orchestra Hudba z Marsu from ZUŠ Jižní Město.
18:30 - 19:00 Commented tour of the Community Center of Mother Teresa
The opportunity to get to know a place that you pass every day up close. The tour lasts approx. 20-30 minutes.
18:30 - 19:00 Reading in the parish library for children
Come and listen to a reading from the book "Bouquets from the Royal Garden" by Ivan Renč, which introduces us to the patrons of Bohemia and Moravia, or from the book "Bible stories for unbelieving children" by Martin Vopěnka.
19:00 - 20:00 Wine with Tomáš Drobík, author of the book Do everything that comes
Come have a glass of wine and chat with the inspirational author of the book with lyrics that aim to help readers close the day with positive thinking and hope.
20:00 - 21:00 Rainbow Gospel concert with the band
The Prague Choir with the band, which focuses mainly on interpretation gospel songs, i.e. music that originated in the early 20th century in the environment of American blacks. The ensemble has been performing on the music scene for 22 years.
20:15 - 20:45 Reading in the parish library for adults
Come and listen to short stories from the book "One Pleasure a Week" by the Czech author Hana Pinknerová, or from the book "A Caress for the Soul" by the Italian author Bruno Ferrer.
21:00 - 21:30 Guided tour of the Community Center the center of Mother Teresa
The possibility to get up close and personal with a place that you pass by every day. The tour lasts approx. 20-30 minutes.
22:00 - 22:30 Concert Kunratic Choir
Performance of a mixed choir from Prague's Kunratic under the direction of choirmaster Alžběta Brzotická. You will hear a selection from the works of G. F. Händel, V. J. Tomášek, W. A. Mozart, A. Dvořák and several adaptations of folk songs.
22:30 - 23:00 Guided tour of the Mother Teresa Community Center
An opportunity to get to know a place that you pass by every day. The tour takes about 20-30 minutes.

Outdoor quiz game about St. Francis of Assisi
This year was declared by the Pope as the Jubilee Year of St. Francis, that is why we invite you to an outdoor game in which you will learn information about the life of St. Francis of Assisi, whose 800th anniversary of death will be commemorated on October 3 this year.

In our bookshop you will find food for your soul.
The possibility of silence, prayer and lighting a candle in front of the altar
You can say anything to God - say what troubles you; thank you, why are you happy... During the evening there will be an opportunity for visitors to use intercessory prayers (there will be volunteers on site who will pray with the visitors if they show interest...).
Popcorn in the church vestibule
There is nothing better than fresh popcorn. Come and taste (for a symbolic price).
