About event
"Woman, bitch, palm, bone."
A young author arrives in Istanbul. To the city of a thousand and one nights. He wants to finally finish the story. You put in the effort, made up your mind, bought a ticket, booked a room, packed your bags and here you are. He wants to have time to write. Time to clean up your head. To run away from men, thoughts, from herself. She sits by the sea and the tides determine her life. Men and dogs. Lifeguards. She feels like a bitch. Can he retrieve? Will she be beaten? Or is violence against dogs and women inadmissible? Who are protected by international conventions? Can we accept them? And live? The nights in Istanbul are long and hot. Is true love waiting there?
Night in Istanbul is Kristián Lazarčík's dramatic debut, inspired by his award-winning short story Betrayal.
The production is suitable for audiences aged 15 and over.
The production is co-produced with the non-established theater Uhol_92.
Supported from public sources Fund for the support of art. The project partner is the Tatra Bank Foundation.
