Non-Aligned Feminist Friendships is the name of a collective that explores feminist strategies connecting political imagination with art. "Non-Aligned" refers to the movement of non-aligned countries, mostly from the Global South, who refused to choose between two political blocs during the Cold War. The NAFF collective meets in private as well as at public events, shares experiences and continuously corresponds with each other. It seeks a feminist interpretation of the politics of non-participation. It asks how to show solidarity, peace and freedom in public space and artistic circles, especially in the context of restrictions on freedom of speech in art, academia and activism, against the backdrop of ongoing geopolitical conflicts.

Contributors to the bulletin: Margareta Kern, Katia Krupennikova, Jelena Petrović, Armina Pilav, Nour Shantout, Tereza Stejskalová and Bita Razavi.

Non-Aligned Feminist Friendships is a collective exploring feminist strategies that link political imagination with art. Rooted in shared experiences, ongoing correspondence, and both private and public gatherings, they reinterpret Cold War non-alignment through a feminist lens. They examine how to articulate solidarity, peace, and freedom in today's public spaces and art worlds, especially in the face of the suppression of autonomy in art, academia, and activism amid ongoing geopolitical struggles.
