Eva Kmentová (1928 - 1980) - one of the most respected Czechoslovak sculptors - lived for many years with severe chronic illness that deeply affected her life. Nevertheless, in the artistic and curatorial reflection of her work, this complex experience appears only as a footnote, and although this happens, it usually interprets it superficially - either as a misfortune that could not properly close her life work " personal mythology.
In this lecture, I will try to suggest a differentiated reading of Eva Kmentová's work in the context of chronicity and critical disability studies. I will confront the above artistic -historical reflection of Kment's disease with its own self -perception, self -presentation and self -presence, as they are recorded in its art and written diaries. I will also try to interpret some of her works through this optics. On a wider scale, I will use this case study to point out the problematic artistic and curatorial structures, representations and narratives of the life and creation of artists (such as talent, artistic genius, etc.). She was a co -confront of the VU1 studio at Umprum, Prague (with Dominik Lang). She worked as a curator of public programs in the Bratislava City Gallery and as a curator in Prague's Display - SDRUZING PRO HARDS AND FAMILY PICE. She worked as a curator of the Residential Program of the Center for Sousal Art of the Meetfactory in Prague, as well as the Lordle Bohnice, the artistic space and galleries in the psychiatric hospital on the outskirts of Prague. She is the author and curator of the long -term discursive project Multilogues on the Now about the intersts of health and care in contemporary art and society (with Hana Janečková). She is the author and editor of the thematic Czech-Slovak book edition .txt, which consists of essays of socially and politically urgent but publicly minor topics (eg without consent.TXT about the culture of rape, other bodies.txt about health disabilities). Together with Zbyník Baladran, he is a co -author of the hybrid collaborative publishing house of the display focused on the texts between the theory of art and contemporary emancipation thinking. She graduated from the Faculty of Humanities of the Charles University in Prague and the theory of interactive media at the Masaryk University in Brno, and completed the doctorate at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Brno. She completed residences and research internships of internships, among other things, in the Museumsquartier and Academy Der Bildenden Kunste in Vienna, CEC Artslink Residency in the Triangle Arts Association in New York, Bluecoat in Liverpool, University of Manchester or Arsenal Gallery in Bialystok. She is a member and chaired commissions at the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the art support fund, the Institute of Arts - Institute Theater, International Visegrad Fund a.i.I.I.Publiks in Flash Art CZ/SK, A2, Artalk.cz, Capital and other media. The interface 04 is the body and corporeality of the age of digital technologies. We are interested in the topics of corporeality, but also the sublimation of body in digital interfaces, non -normative bodies, the animality of the bodyality or body memory that artists and artists discuss in their works in various media positions and forms.
