About event
Thanks to the Orange Foundation, we are happy to provide music teachers with a free course led by Fer Király and Eva Vozárová (www.zdruzenie.ooo). They prepared an interactive workshop focused on musical creativity linked to the development of digital skills and sensitivity to the environment around us. They will introduce you to how to use the SonicPi digital tool when teaching music, as well as how to expand music education with elements of acoustic ecology:
Fero Király is a musician, intermedial artist and teacher, works at VŠVU. Eva Vozárová is a sound researcher, performer and dramaturg. Together they founded and lead the art collective Združenie ooo and the annual intermedial event in the vicinity of Banská Bela and Banská Štiavnica JAMA.ooo. They prefer considerate artistic interventions.
"We will show how to read the sound environment around us, understand it, how to collect sound material from it and use it to create music. We will introduce you to the open-source programming language SonicPi, which was created at the University of Cambridge as a response to the new education rules in Great Britain, where since 2014 programming has been a mandatory part of the school curriculum. It is considered a skill that all students must master at least in the basics. This opened the door to innovative forms of combined teaching of programming and music, because it is in this field that such synergy is natural and engaging. It allows them to work with an instrument that most young people handle quite naturally today - the computer - and does not push them to master skills on acoustic instruments, which are both motor and theoretically demanding for children at the beginning, which often leads to demotivation and loss of interest in music .”

Dear audience,
The leadership of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic is taking steps that destroy Slovak culture! Their powerful interventions and changes in laws threaten our functioning, but also the freedom and diversity of art. so that you are not indifferent. Follow current events, visit cultural spaces and discuss.
Stay with us and let's fight together for a free culture.
