We invite you to a reminder of the events of November 89, associated with a parade, a demonstration and a panel discussion, which will take place on November 17, 2025 in Považská Bystrica.
ATTENTION: THE EVENT STARTS ON 11/17/2025 AT 5:11 PM. ON THE SQUARE IN FRONT OF THE CITY OFFICE.
We will go together on a parade through the city in front of the Cooltajner cultural and educational center, where the event will continue with a civic demonstration. Representatives of students, tradesmen, teachers, seniors will speak to you, and several artists will perform as part of the program.
After the outdoor manifestation, a short break will be followed by a panel discussion in the large hall of the Cooltajner cultural center on the topic of 36 years since November 89.
IMPORTANT INFO:
The event will take place in Považská Bystrica:
- 17.11.2025 at 5.11 p.m.
- the beginning of the parade is in front of the Municipal Office, Centrum 2/3, Považská Bystrica
IMPORTANT INFO REGARDING TRANSPORT AND ARRIVAL:
✅ leave enough time to travel to the event,
if possible, use public transport or come on foot,
if you go by car, use carpooling to minimize the number of cars,
if you were to travel by car to the event itself, park in one of the three parking lots around the house of culture - however, it is possible that the capacity will be filled very quickly,
if the capacity is full, you can park on Školská street, which is already empty in the evening and you can park on both sides of the street,
❌ please avoid parking in the Colony, especially on the streets Tatranská, Mierová and Odborov, it restricts residents (arrivals home from work, rescuers, disabled, etc.),
❌ definitely do not park in front of the House of Culture itself, entry is prohibited,
❌ the area in front of the cafe Corridor will also be closed to the entry of motor vehicles,
What else regarding safety and comfort?
✅ dress warmly, choose suitable shoes,
take your documents and small cash with you,
✅ don't get involved in possible conflicts or provocations, inform the nearest designated organizers about it,
✅ if crowds bother you, stand on the edge or at the end of the assembly,
✅ respect the instructions of the organizers, either through loudspeakers or in person, as well as the instructions of the police, who will help us ensure a peaceful course,
✅ we recommend taking the flags of the Slovak Republic with you and of the European Union, chalks, or your own banners.
Regarding any banners you bring with you: there are no limits to the initiative, but we expect their politeness 🤗
What you should definitely not bring with you:
❌ alcohol,
❌ any prohibited substances,
❌ weapons and other dangerous things.
The procession will last approx. 20 minutes, the demonstration approx. 45 minutes, the discussion approx. 45 minutes, the designated organizational and health service and members of the PZ SR will be present. Please follow their instructions.
The toilet during the event can be used in the Koridor cafe.
Even if the company is soaked in frustration and disgust, we invite you to a calm and non-aggressive event, so please respect it together throughout the evening and honor this important national holiday with dignity 🙏
