📰 Media in a time of innovation and change: How to respond to changes in the media environment and maintain quality, independence, community and relevance?
This year's conference organized by the Foundation for Independent Journalism will be dedicated to this topic. Discussions will be led by experienced journalists, people from the media industry and other key players who will share their knowledge, experience and vision for the future of media.
The conference is intended for editors, people working in the media industry, students of media fields, professionals and the wider public interested in journalism. Its goal is to share information, experiences and approaches to current media challenges.

Opening
🔴 9:35–10:00 Keynote: Security threats for journalists and female journalists (Peter ter Velde - PersVeilig)
Introductory entry on the security threats facing male and female journalists today and how to maintain resilience in a challenging environment. Peter ter Velde works in the Dutch organization PersVeilig, which specializes in the protection of journalists.
🔴 10:00–10:10 Presentation of the Journalist Award in the Innovative Journalism category
Ceremony of the OSF Foundation in collaboration with the NFNZ in the Innovative Journalism category, which honors the best journalistic contributions of the past year.
🔴 10:10–10:15 Presentation of deepfakes research against journalists
Presented by: Pavol Szalai - director of the Prague branch of Reporters Without Borders
Fake videos and audio recordings flood the information space around the world. This was also the reason why the organization Reporters Without Borders (RSF) documented and analyzed deepfake attacks on a hundred journalists from 27 countries from December 2023 to December 2025. The aim of these AI-generated videos was not only to damage the reputation of the journalists concerned and question their credibility, but in some cases they were also an immediate threat to their safety.
The presentation by Pavel Szalai from the Prague office of RSF will present the main findings of this analysis and outline the options for combating deepfake videos.
