About event
NEW YEAR'S CONCERT OF THE STATE OPERA 2026
The State Opera traditionally welcomes the new year with a festive New Year's concert - an event that for decades has maintained the reputation of one of the most prestigious social evenings in our city.
In 2026, too, we are preparing a program that combines the elegance of opera, the sparkle of operetta and the energy of orchestral works. The repertoire will be composed of popular arias, songs and orchestral numbers, while the atmosphere of the king of waltzes, Johann Strauss, will not be missing, with his characteristic brilliance and dancing nobility.
Part of the concert will be dedicated to the life anniversary of Dušan Kozák, a long-time member of the State Opera Orchestra. Although he is already retired, he actively cooperates with the theater and prepares orchestral materials for various projects. At this concert, he will perform in an extremely personal role - he will conduct his own adaptations of selected compositions.
The evening will also include the 2025 AUDIENCE AWARDS ceremony, during which we will find out which artists of the State Opera won the greatest favor from the audience, which production left the strongest impression on the audience and who will become the Audience of the Year 2025.
We are waiting for a festive evening full of music, surprises and a pleasant atmosphere.
