About event
St. Stephen's evening begins with jazz - a special Christmas concert by the trio of Slovak pianist Alan Bartuš.
Don't expect any easy-listening Christmas standards, but an evening full of modern jazz, intense improvisation and original music inspired by European tradition and the scene in New York, where Alan studied for two years.
The twenty-four-year-old musician is one of the biggest talents of the domestic jazz scene. Alan is a recipient of the Dave Brubeck Living Legacy Prize, a semi-finalist in the Herbie Hancock International Jazz Piano Competition and a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music (NYC). Despite his young age, he has already released two award-winning albums, including the solo Solology.
