About event
"The earth is flat, but they don't want to tell you."
"Europe is dying, there's a secret plan behind it."
"And the recent floods? It won't be a coincidence, it works for someone.”
Have you ever heard these sayings? 🤨 Are you wondering why people spread them or if they can be dangerous? 🫣 These questions will be the subject of a discussion organized by the Ask a Scientist platform. We will talk about conspiracy theories, that is, how and why all kinds of events are interpreted as the result of a secret conspiracy. 👀 As this type of reasoning spreads more easily than before thanks to the online environment, it deserves closer attention. 🔎
Political scientist Jaroslav Bílek, media communication expert Lenka Vochocová, geologist Eliška Mikysková and philosopher of language Tomáš Koblížek will debate. The discussion will be moderated by Michael Rozsypal.
