About event
A fine work of art is not only what can be seen, although it should be that, but also a part of the author's life and a reflection of his creative will. But not only that. Paintings and other works of art reflect the times, are a probe into everyday life and a materialization of history.
The fates of the painters, the figures they portrayed and the journeys of the paintings themselves will be followed. Citations from contemporary art literature (K.van Mander, J. van Sandrart, G. Vasari) will help to understand how artists were perceived by contemporaries and subsequent generations. Listening to stories that are often dramatic, complicated or can't be fully revealed can stimulate the imagination. Society of F. Hals, P. P. Rubens, Ch. Paudisse, P. Brueghel Jr., L. Gassel, H. Bol and others will surely provide many stimuli for thinking about art and the fate of the creator.
