According to some theorists, the history of the film is divided into two parts: cinematography before the film Citizen Kane and after. According to Gilles Deleuze, the revolution of Orson Welles is even greater than the arrival of sound in that he ceases the image-time. Welles managed to illuminate a few important motives of film theory from a new angle: the possibilities of interior assembly, establishing an authorial film institute, a reflection of the media with regard to its ability to capture the truth, testify or manipulate. The journalist-detective of the mystery of the film will probably not solve, but is he able to do the viewer?
