About event
We are extremely pleased to announce that the Astronomers Club's popular popular science public lectures are RESUMING after a long hiatus. This time in a new place. We are very grateful that the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the Comenius University in Bratislava provided us with its premises for the meetings of the Astronomers' Club. of Physics and Informatics, UK, Mlynská dolina F1, Bratislava
Name: Club of Astronomers - Interesting Optical Phenomena in the Atmosphere
Lecturer: Mgr. Karol Havrila, PhD., Astronomical and Geophysical Observatory, FMFI UK
Abstract: We invite you to the lecture "Interesting optical phenomena in the atmosphere", during which you will learn about lesser-known, but extremely impressive light phenomena that we can observe in the sky. You will learn how a rainbow, indoor phenomena, corona, gloriola, nightly luminous clouds or aurora are formed. The lecture will offer engaging explanations of optical phenomena accompanied by lots of photos and interesting things from the atmosphere and space.
Come and discover that the sky above our heads hides much more than meets the eye.
The event will take place in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics of the UK. The event is realized as part of the cooperation project of the SAS at the SAV and ASÚ SAV, also with the contribution and support of the Astronomical Institute of the SAV, v. v. i.
Entrance to the event is free. We look forward to seeing you.
