Od Štěpána k Jindřichovi

Educational walk through Prague's New Town with Prague with your eyes wide open.

Some streets used to be and are business arteries, while others have gradually become side streets or back streets. Participants will walk along one of the medieval streets of New Town, today's peaceful Štěpánská street - from the church of St. Stephen to the church of St. Jindřich.

The walk will start at the church of St. Štěpán, which used to have an exceptional position on the country road, the Prague pilgrimage route and at the same time the main commercial artery of New Town. Participants will take a look inside and see paintings from the lives of Czech saints as well as regotisation adaptations. Then it will continue to Štěpánská, where the Habich department store, the brewery at Primasů, the Acron hotel in the art deco style or the Excelsior restaurant and vending machine will be of interest. On Wenceslas Square, it will be shown where the statue of St. Wenceslas Square, the traditional gathering point for the people of Prague, and the buildings at the junction of Vodičkova and Jindřišská streets will also come next. In Jindřišská street, Harrach Palace, the temporary seat of government after the establishment of the Czechoslovak Republic, or the main post office building, established on the site of the first botanical garden in Central Europe, await visitors. The walk ends at the second parish church in Nové Město, at St. Jindřich.

• End of the walk: at the church of St. Jindřicha and Kunhuty, at the Jindřišská tram stop
