Tradition and the present...Porohy on the brink of change
On May 27 at 6:00 p.m., the House of National Minorities in Prague will host a meeting dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the cultural-political magazine "Porohy" and the presentation of its new form — the media portal porohy.cz
"Porohy" was created in the early 1990s as a space for Ukrainian thought, culture and dialogue in the Czech Republic. During more than three decades, the magazine has become a meeting place for different generations of authors, journalists, researchers, artists and readers. Today "Porohy" continues its development in a new digital form — as a contemporary media portal for the global Ukrainian community.
Evening program:
— meeting with former and current editors, journalists and authors of "Porohy"
— debate on the history of the magazine, its transformations and the future of Ukrainian media in emigration
— discussion on cultural memory, continuity of generations and new challenges of independent journalism
— musical performance Ernesta Voltra
— informal meeting and light banquet
