About event
Amsterdam has been in existence for 750 years. That requires an ode to the jubilating city!
The Grande Final is the festive end to the Ode to Mokum song festival for people over 55.
In one of the four preliminary rounds together with the Ode to Amsterdam Kwintet, led by pianist and arranger Kees van Zantwijk, brought an ode to the jubilating city with a song about Amsterdam.
After four preliminary rounds in four historic city re-teaching locations in four different Amsterdam neighborhoods, the festive final in Theater Amsterdam follows. Together with Van Zantwijk's Tienoppige Ode to Mokum Orkest, the finalists again bring their self-chosen 'Amsterdam' song on stage.
During the Grande Final on 22 June in the Amsterdam Theater Amsterdam, the public and internet prize will be presented in addition to three professional jury prizes. The audience prize bears the name Eberhard van der Laan, former mayor of Amsterdam and one of the greatest fans of the Amsterdam repertoire.
The presentation is in the hands of Eva Zulfing.
Everyone from 55 years is allowed to participate, as a soloist, duo or trio. The repertoire choice is free, the participant determines, as long as the song is about Amsterdam.
