In Prešov there is a memorial place, which will commemorate the unfulfilled story of love, hope and the common future of Ján Kuciak and Martina Kušnírová. Their wedding was supposed to be 5th May 2018. It did not. Instead of living together, a tragedy came to shake the whole Slovakia.
The symbol of this unscrupulous wedding becomes a concrete sculpture of an empty pit. Pits that never fit the tree again. The inspiration was the local tradition, according to which the newlyweds after the wedding together planted a tree as a sign of a new beginning.
around the memorial will be created by the groves, where the first 15 trees adopt Prešov personalities with their partners. It will be a strong and quiet message that love and decency still have a place in our society.
Remember. Even after seven years.
