Grandmother is 1930. Death is not talked about until it comes. And not even afterwards. Therefore, I prefer my own funeral. The roles are distributed. The coffin is mine. You are guests.
Subjective confrontation of members of two distant generations of one family. A documentary theater project dedicated to what reference we leave for future generations. The main inspiration is the ninety -nine -year -old grandmother Linda Straub, her opinions and memories. A housewife, a communist's daughter, a neighbor Karel Gott, a boss, a witness of war, an immigrant or the heart of the family? What to remember? Intergenerational dialogue Lindy Straub with her grandmother. Grandma cannot be part of the performance live. Spielraum Kollectiv therefore experiment with the possibilities of working with audiovisual recordings through which grandma is almost acting on the scene despite his absence.
Theme is waiting for death and what will remain after a person. It has never happened in the whole known history of mankind that such different generations with different interests and looking at life live in the same period. The rapid progress of time and constant changes that all generations are exposed to every day causes mutual misunderstanding. The importance of an ordinary person in response to the current search for the meaning of existence, the benefits of an individual. On the border between wishes and an absurd effort to understand what is no longer and what will happen.
Concept, Performs: Linda Straub
Director: Husam Abed
Dramaturgical Cooperation: Tinka Avramová Daniela Paseková
costumes: Barbora Burdová
