About event
We invite you to an Afternoon with Chemistry or Chemistry Cafe with doc. RNDr. Petr Šmejkal, Ph.D on Virtual Reality in Chemistry Teaching.
Virtual Reality (VR) appears to be a very interesting didactic tool for teaching chemistry. Compared to stereoscopic projection, virtual reality brings one great advantage for teaching, which is the possibility of student interaction with the studied object or phenomenon. This advantage enables his deeper involvement and encourages him to do his own work and think for himself. But VR is still a relatively new technology, with specific uses and potential technical challenges that VR education can bring. In addition, in the field of teaching chemistry there are very few educational programs that could be used. In this regard, within the framework of this lecture, we would like to present the technical, health and other aspects of the implementation of VR in the teaching of chemistry, as well as our experience with the Nanome program, which is intended for the visualization of molecules in VR, while we would like to mention several research-based recommendations that can be used in teaching chemistry through VR. These are, for example, ways of conducting briefings, agreeing on signals, structuring the curriculum or an adequate number of pupils for the realization of a VR lesson.
Capacity is limited, you need to register for the event in advance: https://forms.office.com/ e/2zPchiv8Ri br/>- anyone interested in chemistry and its popularization
