About event
🎬 Experience Christopher Nolan's long-awaited film ODYSSE on 30/07/2026 at 17:30 at the Edison Filmhub, followed by a discussion with Professor Petr Pavúk, who spent ten years conducting research and excavations in Turkey, in a place where, according to most archaeologists, the existence of ancient Troy is assumed. during the screenings, we will talk with experts about the historical contexts that shaped legends, literature and later film adaptations.
🏛️ Archaeology, texts, numismatics and the visual arts of ancient civilizations will be the pillars of our conversations after the films. The discussions are moderated by Dominik Hronec.
🔵 The first topic will be Troy in the Bronze Age. What can archeology tell us today about the legendary city, the Trojan War or the Trojan Horse? Who was Homer and did he even exist? Did Schliemann find the real treasure of King Priam?
🔵 We will discuss this and other connections after the film through a video interview with Prof. PhDr. Petr Pavúk, Ph.D. from the Institute for Classical Archeology at the Faculty of Philosophy of Charles University.
🇨🇿 The Czech audience will also be able to watch the special event in the Edison Filmhub Prague cinema! After the Odyssey screening, we will live stream the discussion with Professor Pavúk directly on the screen. Tickets will be on sale soon.
