Dear friends,
we’re inviting you to the grand opening of the contemporary photography festival OFF Bratislava, which will take place on Friday, November 8 at 6:00 PM on the 2nd floor of the Prior centre at Kamenné námestie in Bratislava.

The 15th edition of the festival OFF Bratislava, entitled PERSONA INCOGNITA, delves into the complexity of veiled identities and hidden characters. It explores themes of cognition and self-discovery. Since ancient times, humans have wanted to hold a mirror to the images of their own self – egos, in order to hide their own identity. The mask, a phenomenon that crosses all cultures and the entire history of the human species, constantly accompanies us regardless of time or geographical limitations. The mask is created by a human-artist not only out of a desire to return to the original roots and myths, but also as a way of coming to terms with oneself. A mask is a kind of sophisticated form of penetrating the secrets of one's own existence and reshaping its foundations and laws.
During the festival, we will be sharing content on our social media not only covering the main curatorial section of OFF Bratislava, but also the sections OFF Academy, OFF Libris, and OFF Satellite. The winners of the ON Award, V4 Award, and the Milota Havránková Foundation Award will be announced during the opening on Friday, November 8, and the accompanying program will continue throughout the entire festival.

15. ročník festivalu OFF Bratislava, s názvom PERSONA INCOGNITA, sa ponára do zložitosti zahalených identít a skrytých postáv. Skúma témy poznávania a seba-objavovania. Už od pradávna človek túžil nastavovať zrkadlo podobám svojho vlastného ja ~ ega a skrývať svoju vlastnú identitu. Maska, fenomén prechádzajúci naprieč všetkými kultúrami i celou históriou ľudského druhu, nás neustále sprevádza bez ohľadu na časové či geografické obmedzenia. Masku vytvára človek-umelec nielen z túžby návratu k pôvodným koreňom a mýtom, ale tiež ako prostriedok vyrovnania sa so sebou. Maska je akási sofistikovaná forma preniknutia do tajov vlastnej existencie a pretvorenia jej základov a zákonitostí.
Počas festivalu budeme na našich sociálnych sieťach komunikovať obsah zachytávajúci nielen hlavnú kurátorskú sekciu OFF Bratislava, ale taktiež sekcie OFF Academy, OFF Libris a OFF Satellite. Víťazi cien ON Award, V4 Award a Ceny nadácie Miloty Havránkovej budú vyhlásení počas vernisáže v piatok 8. novembra a sprievodný program bude pokračovať počas celého trvania festivalu.
