Off Bratislava 2024: Persona Incognita

The fifteenth year of the "Off Bratislava" festival, under the name "Persona Incognita", delves into the complexity of veiled identities and hidden characters. It explores the themes of cognition and self-discovery.

Since ancient times, man has wanted to hold up a mirror to the likeness of his own ego and hide his own identity. The mask, a phenomenon that crosses all cultures and the entire history of the human species, constantly accompanies everyone, regardless of time or geographical limitations. The mask is created by a person - an artist, not only out of a desire to return to the original roots and myths, but also as a means of coming to terms with oneself. The mask is a kind of sophisticated form of penetrating the secrets of one's own existence and reshaping its foundations and regularities.

During the festival, the festival will communicate content on their social networks covering not only the main curatorial section Off Bratislava, but also sections Off Academy, Off Libris and Off Satellite. The winners of the On Award, V4 Award and Milota Havránková Foundation Awards will be announced during the opening on Friday, November 8, and the accompanying program will continue for the entire duration festival.

More information about the program is available on the festival website.
