✨kuat Off-Space? ✨
📌 The discussion will develop the perspective of off-space projects operating in the Czech environment. It will focus on their development, historical and socio-social aspects, contribution to the artistic community and the importance of this phenomenon in various locations. Invited personalities approach the topic from various curatorial positions, which in this environment mix with other professions and form under the influence of current social, political, and personal context.
📌 Together we will try to look for answers not only to the following questions: How does the roles of off-space galleries change? What aspects form their program? Do Off-Space Gallery have the potential to attract the audience at present, which in many ways has been different from the time of their flourishing in the last decade? What other projects are part of the activities of these galleries? Is it possible to consider these places as full -fledged alternatives of larger institutions or a functional platform for the development of curatorial practice? What place do off-space and artist-run perspectives gain in the current situation cumulating social, cultural and other crises?
