Certification systems such as the ÖGNI DGNB system ensure and document sustainable construction, strengthen market opportunities and improve financing options. A report by Schiefer Rechtsanwälte GmbH shows that EU taxonomy conformity and third-party audited certificates such as those from ÖGNI are crucial in order to create credibly sustainable real estate, while national initiatives such as the climate active declaration without third-party audit should not be favored for funding and are not suitable for sustainable financial products.
